Jon Manchip White is a distinguished Welsh-American writer who has published over 30 books of fiction and non-fiction. White was born in 1924. He matriculated at Cambridge; after military service, he returned and completed a degree in prehistoric archaeology and anthropology in 1950. White worked for the BBC Television Service, the British Foreign Service, turning to full-time writing in 1956.
